Autel MS906TS was created by kennyb
I just recently purchased an Autel scanner MS-906TS. I'm trying to figure out if I can look at the firing line in parade fashion with the oscilloscope.
I've only been able to look at each firing event separately I want to get all of them lined up on my screen in a row.
Is this possible with an Autel scanner?

Hey kennyb! I moved this into the Tool section.
Unfortunately, the MS906TS does not have an oscilloscope. Thus, you won't be able to look at secondary ignition patterns.
You MAY be able to use the Autel MP408 scope kit with your MS906? I've only ever seen it used with the MS908.

If you do have the 408 the ignition preset will probably set the horizontal time divisions so you can see one ignition event in detail. To see more of them on one screen just increase the H/div until you get what you want, though doing that may make it difficult to actually see the firing lines.
And that'll only work if you're 'scoping a distributor coil lead. If you're dealing with wasted spark or COP you'll need one channel per coil to get what you're wanting to see.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have the MP408 oscilloscope setup. I'm new at this, should have gotten a Snap On instead. Wish there was a video on this, guess I will have to experiment!

Oh OK, cool!
Like Matt T asked, which vehicle did you want to get a parade pattern from?

Well, I've been watching Scannerdanner use the old Sun Scope and he is able to see ignition waveform on all cylinders on the screen then he does a snap throttle to look for problems. I'd like to be able to do this on any car with my Autel scantool. I guess I could start with my 2001 Honda Civic.

Gotcha. Unfortunately, my experience has shown me that there's nothing quite like one of the old Sun machines.
There's really no equal, IMO.
It gets worse because Honda coils are not very secondary ignition friendly. :silly: Most probes, like the Pico TA204 and the AESWave Paddle Probe, won't get you a usable signal. I've tried.
That's not to say it can't be done. We've got several threads around here about making your own secondary probes. Definitely worth reading:
