PicoScope 4425A with BNC+ was created by Dylan
As you might have seen Pico has a new toy being the 4425A. It uses BNC+ cables which provide power to your amp clamps. No more batteries needed. It also recognizes the accessories you plug in and sets the scale automatically. There's also a temperature and resistance probe.
Classic BNC leads from previous models are compatible with this new scope but I don't see why you would buy this 4425A if you can't use the new features

Powered amp clamps would sure be nice!
Auto-probe detection and scaling would save a lot of time, too. I don't know if it is worth re-tooling, though.
This would be a good way to go for the first-time buyer. It would, certainly, help a new user acquire a stable trace more quickly. The downside of that, though, is it requires less understanding of how the scope works.

Yes for sure. No more flat batteries because you left your amp clamp on
I think the auto probe detection and scaling is a nice feature but as you stated it requires less understanding of how the scope works. And if you do it doesn't take that much time to set up your scales and select the probe you're using.
As a first time buyer for a picoscope with all its accessories I would go for the 4425A. But in my case I'll stick with the 4423 and battery powered amp clamps
