Hey, I was given a high quality amp clamp that ranges max 20A.
Can't find any other info online, so, what would be good uses of a very sensitive 20A clamp.
I know of battery drainage. What other uses could it serv?
Thx.

Check the current clamp works for DC not just AC
As you can really damage an amp clamp don't worry about overloading it -- if it will physically fit round the wire it is okay and from experience it may even work well over 20amps before it reaches its maximum output
Apart starting and charging cables and on diesels the glow plug circuit most circuits on cars don't draw more than 20amps even though some fuel pump circuits are fused at 30 amps. Even on diesels with two electric pumps wired from the same fuse I have never seen total amps draw over 14 amps when running.
Glow plugs on diesels draw huge total currents but individual glow plugs generally draw no more than 20amps each.

Just found out what it was. Since it was given to me, I need to have fun with it. What are those things called to put in the slots of fuses to test the current?
Thanks for the great info.

You can use a fuse current loop for testing the amps
www.aeswave.com/scannerdanner-c512/
or alternatively
www.amazon.com/dp/B0787JKMTH/?ref=exp_scannerdanner_dp_vv_d
together with an in-line fuse holder
