There's currently a pretty good deal if you're looking to buy an Amp Hound. Seller is in the UK. No shipment to the US :S I saw this in one of Dave Sterl's YouTube videos.

Sealey are generally pretty reasonable quality, I am very tempted that is good price.

Well I'm tempted as well. It costs me an extra of almost £19 for shipping but that's still a bargain.

Try a google search on Sealey TA113 it may turn up a seller with different shipping policy --- I found a few selling very close to that price .
I suspect it may have been discontinued by Sealey -- from other items I have seen they tend to reduce the wholsale price to rock bottom then when stock is reduced the price is greatly increased.

A friend lent me a similar tool branded by Cornwell Tools to test drive and report back, but I haven't had the occasion.
The one you posted looks like a far superior tool.

Couldn't resist either. I bought it from the link I posted. Tool + shipping for £49.
Also checked out the one you bought Andy. Was about the same with shipping for me. Are you sure it doesn't cost you more? The one from FFX tools is £30.28 with free shipping in the UK.

The charge went through at £38. Shipping charges on toolss sold through Amazon can be illogical I have bought a few large items from Germany and France without extra costs. Also many small UK companies will be uncertain about exporting because of this huge Brexit mess.

It arrived today, looks very good quality I did a very basic try out and it seems to work, if I get time over the weekend I will try and test how sensitive it is.

Amp hound arrived today. Can't say I'm happy with it cause it came broke out of the box. Simple continuity check failed. Then I noticed the negative terminal of the unit is just sitting loose. Have to press it to get a reading

I opened the unit and the 2 terminals are held with two 6mm nuts. Just tightened them and problem solved. Doesn't always have to be hard right

I took about 45 minutes and put mine through a rough and ready bench test :-) I will start another thread on the results.

I just bought a Cal amp Hound 2 from Amazon and it looks Identical to the Sealey.
it has extra leads that plug into the head of the 3 different blade fuse types.

(I actually requested from Mac but but dealer is not operating currently but I could get overnight form Amazon.)
