Yes, it's still worth buying in good condition. I don't believe Snap-On still supports it however, meaning you likely won't be able to get any software updates or customer support.

I'm a diy weekend mechanic, I don't do it for a living. only for friends and family. looking also into the modis edge. but this scan tools are outrageously expensive. what's your recommendation?

Work in your budget is the best advice I have.
If the Modis is working for you I'd stick with it. It's got 4 channels and the Vantage has 2. You'll essentially be replacing one tool for another with similar but less capability, although maybe a bit more year friendly.
I'd at least be looking for something with a touch screen if you are ready to move up from the Modis. You won't know how you ever got on without it
I don't know what your budget is and it's really not my business but for comparison sake I just got a gently used Verus Edge with current software for $1800 and saw 2 that went on eBay for $1000

Thanks Noah. The budget for a used unit out the door is $2500 and I don’t even do it for a living. Lol. That’s my budget. Where did you get yours?

We got a new snap on rep about a year ago and I'm the only one who hasn't bought anything from him, so he's been pretty eager to sell me something. He started at $2400, but I beat him up pretty good and when it was still on the truck 3 weeks later we hammered out the final deal.
They're plentiful at pawn shops, but they don't know anything about them, so you really have to know what you're looking at.

99 percent of all Accessories are still available for the vantage pro since they are all cross platform to vantage ultra a d vantage legend only things I have found not available are grips and screen but charger batteries cables are all still available... also depends if you need a multi meter and scope or you want a scan tool and scope combination.. I know I'm late but thought this info would be helpful spoke to snap on yesterday about Replacment items for 2 of my vantage pros
