Good afternoon,
I'm looking for an older used Modis to use for the scope and multi-meter. I already have a launch scanner that works well with bi-directional controls so I think a working Modis will do for me. I have few questions I havent been able to find answers to yet.
1. I have a '13 f150, 02 ford mustang, and a '15 Kia K900. what personality keys would I need? K-20?
2. I've seen a used modis on ebay that has a grey cable I cant identify and I'm not sure what it is. Attached is a pick with the cable in red.
I'll keep searching for answers but I appriciate the help.

The Gray cable is an inductive RPM Pick-up. It is used to trigger off of a spark plug/coil wire.

Having owned that generation Modis, I think you would be much happier with a Verus. The touch screen makes the scope a breeze compared to trying to navigate with buttons. Plus the Modis is notoriously difficult to see in daylight, and may not be visible for some time after bringing it back inside.
That said, it's far better than no scope at all!

I actually started with a used modis as my first scan tool and scope and hated it for exactly the reasons Noah stated. It was extremely cumbersome. Much happier with my current setup.

Like Noah and PDM said, you may not be very happy with that generation of Modis. They also have terrible battery life, if the battery works at all.
If it's solely a scope you're after, a newer Vantage Pro or one of the Ultra series will be a lot less frustrating to use.
