Hi I was presented with a Skoda Octavia 2010 diesel with P0237. Another garage had fitted a boost pressure sensor. So I checked the plausibility with a scantool and everything looked good. Took it for a road test and realised every time I took a rIght hand turn the boost pressure would drop below atmospheric. So I hook up the scope, 1 channel on the 5 volt ref and the other on the signal, low and behold the 5 volt ref would drop out when turning right. So I set about doing the "riggle" test and this is what I found!

Nice find, sir! Had someone been into the wiring for that sensor before? Saw a butt connector on that yellow wire, wonder if something went wrong previously.

Hi yes someone had definitely been on the connector before and definitely on the yellow wire. But the yellow wire was nothing to do with the circuit I had a problem with. Well spotted though. The yellow wire was missing the weather pack but wasn't suffering from any fault. I did dribble some liquid electric tape into the back of it to hopefully prevent further corrosion.
