Does this scanner operate off of the same windows operating systems as the old Verus? I am trying to find a used snap on scanner and I have seen several of these on ebay, just wanted everyone's opinion on them.

I don't THINK so?
I see quite a few affordable Verus machines coming up on the trucks used, and even on craigslist.

Get s verus. I had the verdict and I wasn't happy with the scope. It's only 2 channels, Bluetoothed to the main scanner. I found it next to impossible to capture a good waveform. It runs WinXP which is ok. I had mine 2 years and finally it crapped out. Traded for a Verus pro and couldn't be happier.

I never really understood the Verdict, honestly. It seemed like someone in the Snap-On marketing department decided there needed to be something in between the Modis and Verus, even though there may not have been a demand for them.

I'm with Chris and Noah, you'll be much happier with a full fledged Verus. Or, go cheaper and get a good used Modis.

I was nearly tempted by a very reasonable fully loaded Verus recently, the downside was it was the personality key version :(
So I went and got myself a new Modis Ultra as an early xmas present to myself - It's very different from the other tools I use / have used but the UI is so intuitive andit's extremely handy to have a scope / meter in the same machine, never mind the excellent info in the component test function.
I just wish you could hot swap between scantool and meter / scope like the Verus.
I have a 4 channel pico for the detail work but after 3 months I wouldn't be without my Modis.
Cheers

Agreed, I'm pretty much married to my Modis Ultra now, lol. Mine sees almost constant use on the job. I do miss being able to run the scanner and scope at the same time, but I can usually figure ways around that when needed.

You know, the personality keys don't bother me.
I didn't realize you couldn't switch between the scope and scan tool on the Modis Ultra! I really like being able to that with the Verus.

The only thing that turned me off with my old Modis was the lack of a touch screen. It makes navigation cumbersome, and setting triggers a real pain.

Yeah, that was a let down for me :( Snap-On was touting the the wireless functions on the Modis Ultra when it came out, but I'd be much happier being able to scope and scan at the same time.
