Hi guys,
I have purchased what is essentially a dso nano v3 with specific automotive software produced by olct, the company i brought it.
Now my drama iam having is this, iam trying to work out how to display a basic voltage measurement on this and it is proving very hard, for example if i put the probes across the battery and the battery has 12.6v!!
I've been able to adjust the time base and capture a fuel injector waveform using my 10.1 attenuator for example, but yeh the issue i have is not being able to simple probe and say yeh thats 12.6v or 5v etccc
The firmware looks to be similar to the uscope aeswave sell
Thanks mitch

Maybe I don't fully understand your question, but 12.6v is perfect voltage for a fully charged battery.
If it's not showing up on the screen, maybe you need to adjust the scale.
for example, if you're on a 5v scale, the 12.6v will be way off the screen. You may need to adjust to a 20v scale to see the voltage.
I'm not familiar with that particular scope, but once you've got the appropriate scale set, you should then also be able to adjust the Zero line to pull the waveform into view.
This should cover the set up. Although the video shows a Picoscope, the information is universal. Only the "buttonology" will be different for your scope.

It is likely the firmware you have is based on what is called "Paul's Firmware ---
Paul's Firmware Instructions PDF Link
I have never used that particular firmware but the instructions say it has a Me Menu -- Measurment Menu that will give you what you want, it also has moveable Time and Voltage cursors thatwill allow you to measure between selected voltages -- for example ground and battery voltage,
***** Edit ***** I just found it on their website Link confusingly the Video shows it loaded with Ben-F firmware and the still pictures show what appears to be Paul's firmware. Ben-f also has an Me Menu

Yeh it is, i will better explain my question, how do i setup this scope to display live voltage readings??? I connect my leads to the battery and i get a flat line trace up along the screen as i would suspect on a scope, but i have no way of determining the voltage level of that line, there is a measurement menu which has vrms, vp, vmin-vmax etc, but the readings do not display any voltage, basically this scope will draw a voltage trace over time and nothing more, i can not.get any digital readout like i would with a multimeter making it.pretty much useless imo
Thanks mitch

I just confirmed this works on the Ben-F version on the ME menu, select Vavg and click OK, on the Ben-F the Voltage appears the top right of the screen adjacent to the Battery Charge Indicator. It works best on a fairy short screen time say 1ms/div.
The display layout on the Paul's or Uscope firmware is different I think it may display somewhere in the bottom left of the screen. This general way of displaying a volt reading is typical of many labscopes.

OK, got it. I misunderstood your question, sorry about that!
