Yes and no. They won’t be able to do much more than global data until it is released (or is it that snap on has to purchase rights or something like that? Not sure when it comes to how they decide who can do what) but they will be able to do the same amount as they do now in the future once that is straightened out from what I’ve been told.

Not just Chrysler the SGW is gradually being introduced right across the FIAT group starting with the 500 based models On the website for the popular FIAT group Windows based scantool MultiECUScan they suggest connecting directly to the can lines.

I ran into this with a Jeep Compass yesterday. TPMS light flashing, but Snap-On and Autel wouldn't have anything to do with it. We don't have the connectors to jump past the SGW, so for now we're SOL.

I think Autel did figure a way around it? From what I understand, they're releasing a special adapter (8+12 they call it) to jump past the SGM and allow the Autel to talk. AESWave had a video about it:

It's either this or have a current WiTECH subscription. :silly:

Wow, $70? Value! If it works, I'll buy one just to keep around.

Truth. B) Between that and this bypass module, I'm wondering how easy it would be to wire up my own?

I have done some more Googling I actually found instructions for making one but in Italian. In truth at the moment it is so simple to by-pass it is just going to stop casual users.
I would expect to see them at rock bottom prices on eBay soon the main issue is actually getting access to the SGW to plug in the module.
It seems the SGW modules used by Fiat Chrysler are Bosch design
