Budget allows some tool buying so I am trying to figure out if I should buy new Launch scantool or upgrade to a Ditex scope or buy the Ditex relative compression tester --- I really don't need to do any of the above but ........................

Hey man, I didn't 'need' 70% of the tools in my box, but I wanted them!

I vote for the Ditex scope, for what it's worth. The shop has a Launch X431 Pad, and I was not impressed. All the functionality is there, but viewing data is a chore.

I would definitely skip the relative compression tester. What scope and scantool do you currently have?

If you have a scope or are going to get one I can think of no good reason at all for a dedicated relative compression tester.

As regard scantools my main issue is I deal mainly with cars from a european manufacturers not well covered by by most scantools brands. To cover Rover, Fiat, BMW I use an assortment of PC based, Android based and handheld tools. For non bi-directional I have a Launch X431 dongle that is the only tool I have ever found that connects with almost first time every time to the cars I work on , but it lacks bi-directional so for any bi-directional and coding I have to use the laptop with one brand software or use a CarCar AET1 which covers a vast number of manufacturers but is buggy so I don't trust the more advanced functions so would never use it for introducing a new key or module . So if I buy a new scantool it will be a more upmarket Launch

At the moment most of the time I use an Owon SD7102 2 channel Labscope which I get very good results from but the run time on battery isn't great and at the back of my mind is sooner or later a job will come up that needs a decently quick 4 channel scope.
