Paul's last video about the car he could not reset the alcohol content PID possible due to the battery dying reminded me of a stupid problem I had last week due to a dead battery.

2011 Mini Countryman, initial problem intake cam sensor shorted high. Car had been sitting for 6 months, battery stone dead, charged slowly for 1.5 days to recover battery. Easy diagnoses, swap intake and exhaust sensors, verify problem moved. Replace both sensors (the seem to be problematic at ~100K miles and are only $20/ea.) TPMS warning popped up, pumped up tires could not get TPMS to reset.

This vehicle does not have sensors in tires, rather it uses wheel speed sensors to calculate rolling radius of each tire. All wheel speed sensors working fine. Also noticed that trip odometer could not be reset. Drove for several miles are various speeds. Looking on scan tool for a 'master ECU reset'. Finally I reset the maintenance counters which also set the time/date and poof the TPMS message on dash pod went away. Drive about 100 yards and the tire pressure icon in center dash went out. There is no PID in the maintenance counters seemed to be related, perhaps it just the time/date. Which ever it was a stupid time wasting problem.
