Pico scope users what kit is the best value? was created by Richey.brown
Hi every one my boss is going in for the pico scope, and has left it to me to chose which kit is best for us. Obviously the master kit has the most equipment and I would really like the pressure transducer. But I really don't need the endless amount of break out leads, as 95% of the measurements will be back probing. What I am getting at is, is it better to get the standard or advanced kit and add the pressure transducer on to the top of it???I do alot of electronic work on cars and alot of advanced tests and I am currently using the bosch fsa 500 which is probably the 2nd best automotive scope. (Better than the verus but not as good as the pico) any advice will be much appreciated by someone who already owns one of these kits

If the boss is paying and you can justify it then buy the Master kit as buying in stages is always more expensive.
If you're in the USA then it would be daft not to buy from Autonerdz, if you're in the UK then hit Matt up from www.prodiag.co.uk and tell him Doc recommended him to you, he's a real good guy (ex-Pico) with a very good reputation.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. I will definitely give him a call. He doesn't list the master kit on his website though only the advanced? Definitely interested in the wps 500 pressure transducer

He'll be competitive on pretty much anything you need for diagnostics, lot's of contacts in the UK.
Again, a genuine bloke with a passion for the trade that actually uses the stuff he sells - a pretty good trainer as well.
I think Paul also has a lot of accessories and kit via AESwave and JBtools in his tool section - the downside for us in the UK is the shipping cost.
Cheers

Doc, you really need to go to www.autonerdz.com and check out your options. You definitely want to pick out a kit that gives you the free autonerdz membership. I believe they also have the option that you can choose the master kit, but pay for the standard kit and receive the additional accessories as you can afford them. And definitely, go for the four channel scope (4425).

Donny, I agree totally with you. For US based techs buying from Autonerdz is a no-brainer. For those based in the UK then shipping and taxes makes it prohibitively expensive (or it did when I was buying) for example, Paul's craftsman test light is $19 in the US but £33 in the UK.
Cheers
