just bought mtg2500. on youtube there are vids on how to update proms thru places on ebay. i think they are no longer in business. anyone know a place where one can buy and have hi confidence level ?
For the MT and MTG 2500 scanners, you have to search eBay for the programmable cartridges. They are called VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) and TCI (Troubleshooter Communication Interface). When Snapon was supporting them, these cartridges were updated by reprogramming them on the tool truck. They haven't been supported since 2008, and that is also the newest manufacturer data the scanner had. After that, you have only Global OBD2 support, which is still quite useful, but not as much as having the manufacturer specific information as well.
