For awhile I've heard good things about iATN. i looked up the registration info and it requires that I need to have experience in the automotive field in which I don't. That's a bummer because I'm willing to pay for the subscription. I understand why they do it that way but man i would love to tap into those resources to gain more knowledge.

Well iATN is a website for professionals. But to say that you have zero experience that's not really the case is it?

Subscribe. They won't ask for credentials and they won't turn your money away.

Like pole71 said, I doubt you'll get any resistance. To be honest, you're probably more professional than a lot of the guys on there. Seems like some sign up just so they can (ab)use the TechHelp section as a cheaper IDfix.

I joined just the free side of the forum. But I've only been on there a few times and just for a few minutes. I hate the way the forum is set up. They need to update it

There's a free side? I genuinely didn't know. Which ones can you access?

 Yeah, it's unique, isn't it? Not sure where that setup came from...

I was a non paying member for years. I liked reading the forums and using the resources I could.
Eventually I got fed up not being able to search or use the waveform data base so I signed up for the $20 personal account. Well worth the subscription fee. There's some seriously smart people over there. Many of them with the ego to match, lol. I post very little on iatn, but I have the app, so I check in on my favorite form topics a couple times a week. If there's something I don't understand I'll search it out, and if someone seems like they really have a lot to offer on a subject I'll search for posts by that user and usually find enough reading material to make my brain hurt multiple nights in a row of falling asleep reading ;)

There's another thing coming up: it's the Diagnostic Nretwork.Scott Brown, the former IATN president is just in the process of getting this started. To me it looks promising.

On their web side diag.net you can listen to a radio interview about the project.

An expert is someone who knows each time more on each time less, until he finally knows absolutely everything about absolutely nothing.

I have signed up on diag.net just waiting on it to get started. Should be good.

I signed up this weekend and wouldn't you know this afternoon I was asked for credentials in a email they send. I'm not going to BS them with a company name, address, certification and so on. I'm going to reply to cancel my account. I least I tried. :)

I pay for a month of iATN when ever I needed it. That is the nice thing about iATN, although the link is hidden, you can cancel your paid subscription at any time and start back up any time.

Confirm what it's not, and fix what it is!

Dang it! :silly: Meh, worth a shot. They seem to be very choosy when they ask for credentials.

I had no idea there was an app. It seems to be setup much better than the website so I might have to spend the $20 to see what else is on there

You don't need to be a sponsoring member to use the app, but the search function doesn't work unless your are.
More accurately, the results of the search will be inaccessible....
