I'd say heat buildup. It's like a cable drum you use at home. On mine there's a max power for when it's rolled up or unrolled. There's also a thermal switch on it for safety.

Ugh, useless. If I can't jump all eight glow plugs with my test leads, then I don't need 'em! :silly:
:lol: But seriously, 10A isn't bad. I have a bad habit of jumping loads with my scope leads, then wonder why they get hot. :blush:

On a side note, just how much smoke do you think is in these things? They smell terrible during starter relay bypass testing...:pinch:
