I wonder why the maximum current changes? Heat buildup? RFI?

I'd say heat buildup. It's like a cable drum you use at home. On mine there's a max power for when it's rolled up or unrolled. There's also a thermal switch on it for safety.

Ugh, useless. If I can't jump all eight glow plugs with my test leads, then I don't need 'em! :silly:

 But seriously, 10A isn't bad. I have a bad habit of jumping loads with my scope leads, then wonder why they get hot.

These are very light duty excellent for resting continuity from front to rear of vehicle or light loads ,I think It said it was 18gauge which is not sufficient to carry 10 amps very long!

So I should unwind the reel before I jump start my truck with them maybe?

On a side note, just how much smoke do you think is in these things? They smell terrible during starter relay bypass testing...:pinch:

I have 2 of these and they are great I also bought a set of female connectors so I can string them together and have 30 feet of test lead nice to be able to hook up to scope and use the neg battery terminal for the ground

Hitting it with a Hammer is worth $5 knowing where to hit is worth $40
