Frequency Response (kHz) and Current Clamps/Probes

Trying to understand why some current clamps or probes cost more and are better than others. Most low current clamps can measure values as low as 10mA to 50mA. The accuracy might be better on more expensive current clamps, but not by much. But, the one spec that has me scratching my head is frequency response. Expensive probes are rated at 100 kHz(Fluke and Premium Pico), while less expensive probes have a frequency response of 20 kHz.
Is this just a concern while measuring AC voltages?
The higher frequency response, the better resolution?
Does a higher frequency response allow for the monitoring of serial communication lines?

Great question my take on it is the the engine biggest issue with current clamp is noise from all the stray electron-magnetic fields around engine. With a curent clamp if I can see detail on a coil current ramp and cranking, fuel pump and PWM wave forms I think it is well up to the job.
I have been intending to try a low range current camp on MAF sensors as Frank Massey demonstrates in a couple of videos but I haven't had a suitable case in yet.
