I didn't hear it from Autel but from a few reviews on either Amazon or comments on a couple of youtube pages. I know for a fact that the DS708 would not be supported after Dec 2017.
I saw comments state that the lawsuit from Ford or GM is driving this change. Not sure what to believe and figured I would get an honest answer here.

I would contact Autel directly.
A lot of fake reviews & counterfeit tools out there. I can't imagine a new scanner like this will not be supported. Update procedure looks the same as the other Autel scanners & any lawsuit would affect all the scanners that they offer.
Looks like it comes with 1 year warranty & updates.
Update cost is $349.00
I think you are falling victim to some bad information.
Give Autel a call & let us know what they say.
