I've been using one by Smoke Break for a while now, but I don't like it. I've noticed that it is barely putting out any smoke recently and the company is sketchy. They haven't replied to any of my help emails and I noticed the business changed names, I'm guessing to hide something.

I'm looking at some other inexpensive options like the yako a1 and autool. I'd prefer something that doesn't require shop air or other gas supply.

The problem is that I'm finding some of the models are designed for EVAP and others are for higher pressure applications like intake/turbo leak detection.

My question is, could I buy a higher pressure model and put a regulator AFTER the machine to lower psi to like .5 for evap before it goes into the line for that testing or stick with an EVAP model that limits to low psi? Is .5 to 1psi enough to find intake leaks?

I was able to make contact with someone who works with the manufacturer through eBay and they said the manufacturer was interested in taking a look at my unit for r&d and we're going to send a return label to me, but I never got it.

Last night I ordered one of these. I accept that I won't have squat for support but I'll take the chance.

I'll break my old one open and see if I can fix that and sell it too. I'm curious to see the design in there and have some blueprints to make my own someday.

A little update on this one, it's been great so far. It puts out a lot more smoke than my old one and is built nicely. The accessories that it comes with would normally cost you over $100 too. This particular model does not have any output adjustments.

It comes with an EVAP valve tool, banana plugs for the power/ground clamps, inflatable blow through bladder for intake tube, assortment of caps and plugs, a hanging hook, and 5 min auto heat shut off.

I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for a smoke tool on a budget.
