Hi,
Looking at this little scope just to be able to see wave forms, on ignition tests?

Was wondering about any opinions on this tool!

Thanks!

It is a version of the DSO Nano 201 with custom firmware for automotive work it is a good little scope for working in field but it has its limitations it is only single channel and the small screen size means you don't get much detail if you do a spark parade.

I've had very good luck using the uScope with a secondary ignition probe. The scope itself is more than fast enough, and the trigger works well for getting the waveform you want.

I've used the uScope with the Paddle Probe and the Pico TA204, and both produce nice waveforms. Of course, some ignition systems don't work well with secondary paddles (three and four wire ignition coils), so keep your target vehicles in mind. ;-)

Thanks Gentlemen!!!

Well I have a 1989 F-150 and a 2005 Honda Element!

I hear that the Japanese cars have a thick insulation on the COP's!

I guess that makes the paddle type probes not pick up as well as on US cars!

Thinking hard on this U Scope as it is cheap enough and can upgrade it with probes as I need.

Would really like a Modis or Vantage Pro but a lot of $$$ (to me!) for how much I would use it!

Thanks again!

If you get a BNC adaptor available off ebay for the DS201 Nano you can add wider variety of probes.

Hi,
Thanks!

I hear though that the Nano's have no dedicated "auto presets"???

As a beginner with scopes, thought the Uscope would be more user friendly?

AES stored custom presets into the uScope they are very handy but nothing you could not setup on a DSO201 by just playing with the buttons and then store to an SD . The problem with the DSO201 is to make usable the firmware has to changed which is just a bit computer geeky.

The uScope or the DS201 with updated firmware are really easy to use and quick to learn by just playing with the buttons .

It is fantastic scope that I don't regret buying at all. It is great if you want to scope something quickly and don't need more than one channel. Relative compression, ignition, wheel speed sensors, fuel pump current, as a volt meter. I'm sure I'm leaving other tests out, I can't recommend it enough. If you want to look at primary ignition or injectors you need an attenuator which I believe is included in the master kit now.

The master kit comes with the BNC adapter

Hi,
I'm working on an 89 F150 4.9L crank but no start issue for awhile now.

I've been down about every "rabbit hole" I can go down with this!

Just wondering if the scope would maybe show me something I am missing with just a DVOM ?????

I'm sure I'm the problem in not finding the problem but have followed troubleshooting procedures and used Motorcraft parts when changing anything.

Just wondering what else I can do besides having it towed to a dealership with a scope machine????

Thanks for the info, I would buy the UScope if I thought it would help solve my problem???
