Hello All...My scanner does not have a bi-directional capabilities but I got hold of a tool that does it. Its called PWM Bi-Directional Controller by ADPT (Automotive Diagnostic and Publishing). Some of you might or might not heard of it but has a bunch of diagnostic tool that you can employ. Just Google : autodiagnosticandpublishing.com

Hi Noah...i used the PWM bi-drectional controller on a purge solenoid and it works as expected. the only thing is you have to disconnect the solenoid in order to check its integrity. you can even connect it to your scope and adjust the pulse width in order to see how the solenoid behaves. and of course you check your wiring integrity the usual way...

Can you set it to run for an exact predetermined period of time, for say an injector balance test?

aeswave has one too and it's cheaper. Completely adjustable and shows amp draw.

unfortunately it is not recommended for injectors, coil and throttle body use....
