Hello, i'm trying to find an inexpensive scan tool with bidirectional good enough for the DYIer , this is not for professional use but to be able to use it as repair help. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated . Also if a scope it's available, i seen Paul's vantage graphing meter tool in his videos and even though it's an old unit still works fine.

The sound wisdom is look for 2nd user Snap-On -- if you can find one at price that is good for you go for it but if you can't.
In the crossover between serious hobby and light pro use Autel and Launch are well established with a range of models from a few Dollars to thousands . Think what you are looking is something like the Launch CRP Touch Pro I haven't tried one yet and there are few reviews although one very favourable one is from the well repected Matt at Schrodingers Box YouTube channel.
If you only work on a restricted range of vehicles there are a good few low cost one make softwares available that work with cheap dongles.
I know one make free/lowcost softwares are available for Ford (withsome Mazda) , Fiat (including some Chrysler and jeep), VW Audi (Seat and Skoda), that give very good access. not quite dealler level but close and getting closer

There is definitely a large gap when you go from a code reader to a good bidirectional scan tool. If you want a really good bidirectional scan tool that will do almost anything you would ever need, then I would recommend a Launch X431 or an Autel MS905 or MS906. You can save some money on these if you don't need all of the old pre-OBDII vehicle connectors too.
I have been using an Autel MS906 for quite a while now and I don't really have any complaints.
