vantage pro problem was created by MAHR
Hi, guys
My name is Matej. I come from Slovenia. Recently when I tried to use my Vantage Pro I have noticed that I can not measure anything with it.
The machine starts OK,I can scrool through the menu, set the scale but when I want to measure something nothing happens.
I though that the problem is in cables but that it is not. I did not over forced the machine by anything.
Please for help,
Thank you in advance
Matej

There's a fuse in the back. 10 amp I think. Have you checked that? When you say it does nothing you meen it just won't measure or the screen goes black or something?

Hi,
Thank you for your quick response. The thing is that nothing goes black. When I conect the leads to something that I would like to measure the screen is OK.I can see the scale (in graphing measurement mode),but there is no value changing.Exactly the same thing in digital measuring mode.I have checked the fuse which is OK.I can not understand how the machine one day before is working fine ,another day not working. One thing that I have noticed are those clicks when the machine is loading selected measuring mode. They are not present like they were before.I did not over forced the machine by anything. Here in Slovenia we dont have Snap On distributor.
Thank you again
Matej

So you've checked the fuse? Other than that I'm not sure sorry.

At first I was thinking maybe a solder joint was junk at the banana jack inputs, (that happens on my old school Vantage sometimes), but since it doesn't click and make the calibrating noises internally, it sounds much more sever.
If you can't find what you need here, try to join iATN. Aside from being a great resource for technicians, there is a Snap On users section to their site/forum where someone may be able to give you some advice.
I would open it up and look signs of heat...
