Hantek 1008C 350 Spark problems? was created by jdkoontz
I have a 350 Chevy running rough.
The dist is a small cap Summit Racing Electronic ignition. Coil is a 8222.
Have I got this setup right? The spark signal looks noisy?
Is this a bad coil? Or bad ignition module?

Where exactly are you connected to with your leads?

I am afraid this scope is not capable of delivering useful captures on that long a timebase on high frequency signals as ingnition events are

Channel1 is on #1 spark plug wire. Channel2 is on coil wire. Both are inductive probes.

Not doubting your words but I suspect you're actually using capacitive probes. This scope's limitation regarding sample rate combined with the applied time base/settings makes it next to impossible to capture meaningful secondary waveforms imo.

A1 is just an example waveform overlayed on the screen?

The probes are HT25 hantek. They are listed as inductive capacitive? Does that make sense?

Channel#3 is coil wire. Channel#1 is cyl #1.

Why does the coil scan get inverted? Seems like the #1 cyl is not inverted?

Had a spare coil, so I swapped it out to see if the coil was the problem.

Coil now looks good, but can someone tell me why the coil signal is inverted? Is that OK for these scopes?

Channel3 is the coil wire. Channel5 is plug #1 wire. Does this plug signal look correct for this scope?

What you describe as an "inverted" signal of the secondary ignition is completely normal on negative fired ignition systems. The voltage is seen as "outgoing"

Dedicated ignition scopes directly invert the view so you'll see an upside image. If your scope doesn't do this automatically you still can manually invert the image to see in the 'typical' way if you prefer so.

Found the invert settings.

Is this a normal view of the plug wire probe when that cyl is firing?
Is the slow voltage decline telling me anything?
