Hand held O scope ? was created by eci4545
Hello ALL, New to the forum. My understanding is an O scope is one of the few/only accurate way to confirm a bad or failing crankshaft position sensor. So, was wondering if the inexpensive (cheap) 25.00 hand held O scopes found on e-bay  adequate to  confirm the condition of a 2 wire analog CKP? I'm I correct to guess all 2 wire CKP's are analog? Edit: As a starting point ,is engine RPM shown on a basic OBD2 scanner an indirect indication of a working sensor?

Welcome to the forum. I have never used a scope like the one you describe, but you are correct, RPM on the scan data generally means the crank sensor is functioning.
