Exhaust Restriction was created by Stryper
I tried doing it at the sensor 1 location (easiest) but only had a regular compression tester to use. And it was analog not digital. Did not even bump the needle. I'm guessing a regular compression gauge is just not sensitive enough?
Anyone have any luck with the vacuum test ? as far as exhaust restriction ?
Just waiting for my book to arrive, so I can follow along and take concise notes

I like to use a vacuum/pressure gauge in the exhaust to test for restrictions. As you noted, the compression gauge is not sensitive enough.

I do not measure engine vacuum to check for a restricted exhaust. Pressure measured in the exhaust is much easier to spot in my opinion.
An in cylinder pressure transducer does a great job showing restricted exhaust also, but it takes some training, and obviously a transducer, to interpret the results of that test.

So where did you find an adapter to fit into the O2 sensor bung? I actually needed a new vacum gauge anyway
But now trying to figure out something to adapt it ?
Thanks,
Michael

I just have a little brass thing I saved from the trash, but some times I just drill a small hole anywhere convenient and hold the hose on it. Doesn't take long to get a reading and tack weld the hole closed

Thats great if you can reseal it, i guess on a personal vehicle you could use a sheet metal screw. I was lucky enough my upstream 02 was easy to get to, and BIGTHANKS to fellow for heads up to HF tester!
And i managed to cobble an adapter and now have another arrow in the quiver! for 16$ yippie!
