Awesome timing, SD!

I am, presently, looking to purchase programming equipment. I am looking at the CarDAQ-M, featured in the video, and the Snap on Pass thur Pro 2 or 3.

I am interested in ANY and ALL input as to Pros and Cons of different devices.

Thanks brother. I'm limited in my knowledge on this subject as the only J2534 tool I've ever used was the CarDAQ-M. So far I have been able to write the VIN number on two older Chryslers for the skim module (anti-theft). Programmed a few GM's as in this video and if your remember, that Volvo CEM series. IF you had the CarDAQ, what would be the need for the Snap-on Pass thru? Or is it an either or type thing?

I am seeing the CarDAQ-M sell for $1847.63. www.aeswave.com/cart.php?m=affiliate_go&...ogramming-p8978.html

I see the Snap on Pass thru sell for $1698.00 www1.snapon.com/diagnostics/us/PassThruProIII

I can put the Snap On on my account. I have to pay cash, in full, for the CarDAQ.

I don't mind paying cash in full, if there are advantages to the CarDAQ.

If you decide to go with the AESwave purchase for the CarDAQ-M, please use this link so I get credit for it. You'll pay the same price and the small amount AES pays me, helps to support the website. Thank you!

I, definitely, will. And, I'll chalk that up as +1 advantage for the CarDAQ. It may, also, be an advantage to be using the same device that you use, should you do more videos on the subject.

+2 for CarDAQ

Thank you! But I do want you to get the best tool for your needs. Get the one that you want okay?
Don't worry about the little kick back I get from AES.

General consensus, on the web, is that the CarDAQ-M, from Drewtech, is the best. Drewtech is receiving great reviews for it's tech support, as well.

The Snap On Pass thru Pro III IS a CarDAQ-M in a RED case.

The price difference of, roughly, $150.00 came out in the wash, as AESWAVE did not charge sales tax. (Snap On would have.)

I ordered the CarDAQ-M.

Congratulations, sir. ;-) I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

I've used the Snappy Pass Thru Pro II, can confirm it's rebranded DrewTech stuff, right down to the J2543 Toolbox that's included. Never had a problem programming anything.

I've seen similar questions about j2534 programming over on iATN, and a lot of the guys over there are saying there's "big changes" coming in 2018.

I've also been looking to get into the game, it's necessary if you want to make money independently in this field.
You just can't see a diag all the way through and charge a customer for a diagnosis/repair and tell them "you owe me $xxx, for what I've done, now tow it to the dealer and they'll get it running for you. Thank you, come again!"

These devices seem to be more available (attainable, affordable) now than even just a couple of years ago. MAC Tools even includes one with their Android scan tool.
I'd hate to start paying to play, and in 6-7 months time find out they're changing the game....
