So I've had one of these for a while:
It’s very similar to the uActivate relay circuit tool that Paul Danner uses frequently in his
ScannerDanner videos on YouTube, but considerably less expensive.
There’s one main difference – the uActivate tool has a loop of wire protruding from the
bottom of it that you can hang a clamp meter or amp-probe from to get current
measurements from the circuit that you’re testing.
Having watched a number of ScannerDanner videos, I found myself wishing that I had that
feature on my tool. Being of limited funds, I wasn’t going to stump up $200 plus shipping
and taxes to get the uActivate tool so it was a matter of modifying what I already had.
This is dead simple, and the cost is one piece of wire, two drops of solder, and one piece of
heat-shrink. It took me ten minutes.
