Hello, new to the group and looking for advice. I have the ACTRON #CP9175 but can no longer read the small font with my eyes. I am looking for a new OBD2 scanner with bright color screen, bigger display the better and large font . The more options the better., live display is a plus Would like to be around $150 but up to $200 I know I want a lot for a little. lol. Any suggestion would be great.
Thank you

Depending on what you do or will be doing with it, personal vs work, side hustle use you may want to also possibly look into a bidirectional capable scan tool.
Paul aka ScannerDanner has reviewed some from time to time on his YouTube channel for his viewers / subscribers.
Keep in mind the more you spend the better the features, value, etc you will have.
I haven't kept up with latest trends as I last bought a Topdon Phoenix Elite so I haven't really been watching the lower end ones.
I saw your message in my email so thought I'd throw some extra things to keep in mind for when you sit down and look more closely later in the buying process.
Don't pull the trigger and buy something to quickly. Check a few different forums on the web, here and elsewhere. Look at reviews. Be careful of new tools that have a ton of reviews right away as I personally know marketers on groups where you can get free stuff bought off your Amazon account and all they ask for is generally a 5 start review. Literally I showed my checkout screen, a PayPal amount for that was sent to me. I told them I couldn't leave a honest review as there's flaws so they send me a phone charger/holder for a car but that didn't work out the gate.
Some companies are good at one thing hence scan tools but then aren't the greatest at Boost Packs. I've mentioned names so you do the math.
We're always here to answer questions but also very busy serving shops, customers so there may be times I don't answer for up to a week or longer.

Thank you for the quick reply. The one I have is basically a code reader. Like I said screen size and font is most important. If I can get more features the better so I can learn more. I am a DIYer and do work on some others cars. Mine are getting older and both are throwing code with misfires and other issues. So want something I can grow into.

An expert is someone who knows each time more on each time less, until he finally knows absolutely everything about absolutely nothing.

You may want to consider an interface that goes with a tablet, laptop or phone. It allows for a big(ger) screen and adjustable font size.
There are elm 327 based ones available, both Bluetooth and wired. Programs like torque allow for working on much more than only OBD2 on a variety of brands.

Thank you, I like the tablet or my laptop idea. There are just so many units out there and it now has me very confused and maybe over my head. For now I will just stick with what basic unit I have. Maybe later I will try and learn more about these program and which maybe best. I am mainly using it on my FORD and GM cars and trucks.

What are the thoughts on THINKCAR bluetooth unit? Is there something like that without a yearly subscription, I can use my laptop or tablet?
