There's a "Generic Functions" tab at the menu screen of each module.
For example, when you select PCM (or engine or however it's labeled) you'll get tabs for:
Codes Menu
Data Display
Functional Tests
Generic Functions
Troubleshooter
I don't think that you get the full list of generic OBD 2 functions, but I believe you can get at least freeze frame data, readiness monitors and maybe even Mode $06.
You might see different tabs and labels depending on what version you have and what you are working on.
