Hey all, wanted to share some info. My wife to be has a 2013 Jetta TDI. Car ahs 18k on the clock and has been meticulously serviced. Not that it has needed much. Anyway, two weeks ago she decides to take it to work after having it sit for a few days. The car cranked and would not start. So I go down and start playing with it. Of course it never does start and I notice the glow plug light flashing. I have it towed to my shop and figure I'll scan it. Codes come up with boost problems and atmospheric pressure. Nothing to do with a glow plug circuit. This pile of crap is supposed to be bought back next month because of the diesel buyback issue. Of course it breaks now. lol. So I begin making some tests on various sensors and such and find nothing wrong. I clear the codes and still a no start and flashing light. So, codes come back again and I make no headway for 6 hours with it. Tech support no help. I have a friend who is an A tech for VW and he does some digging. Turns out there is a tsb on this for the wiring harness to the MAF. I go back out there and make an attempt to get to the harness without being too intrusive. No joy. It is buried. So, I make one more attempt to crank it and it starts and runs perfect. I drive it home and notice it smoking like a crop duster. The next day it goes to my buddy at VW under warranty. Wiring harness needs to be replaced. So, just wanted to share this in case you run across this insanity in the field. Hope it helps someone.
