all gauges working when performing actuator test ( depress trip set and key on ), pulled codes .P0462 fuel level ( calculate mpg's, trip mileage on available gas )sensor 1 circuit low,P0072 ambient (cabin )air temp sensor circuit low, U0155 lost communication w/ cluster/ccn, U0101 lost communication w/ TCM, erased all codes, all codes returned. Bad computer ? Or bad ground ? Or the computer is from a different vehicle and it's looking for accessory input that did not exist with a 2006 jeep wrangler.

After searching for a new PCM/ECM with no luck, determined to make jeep run again, I open up the computer and layered foam padding across jell so as to put pressure on chips on motherboard. I was able to get jeep cranked and running, which ran for about five minutes then engine shut down to a no crank condition. 24 hours later tried to crank again but still no crank. Applied hand pressure to PCM and had wife crank jeep and it cranked and ran again for about five minutes, engine shut down to a no crank condition again. Question ? Lose processor, microchip, ground circuit on motherboard ? Solder pins on board ?

Hi,
I fixed one of those jeep ecm, by soldering almost every chip pin i found. Working still. That was 2 years ago.
Cheers

After 2 years 5 months I've found an ecm, installed computer, followed setup instructions, turned ignition key and NO CRANK. fuel pump, starter checked and both are good .ASD, STARTER AND FUEL PUMP RELAYS ALL CLICK, relays good. Instrument panel illuminate. Scan tool finds no mil codes on new computer. Installed old computer, no crank, pulled P0688. Erased code (P0688) on old computer, code immediately returned. Inspected wiring outside of wiring bundle, appears in good shape. Would a bad ignition module cause P0688 ( code on old computer) ? Why no code on new computer ?

Are you getting power to the starter on the control wire? Is power maintaining on the big battery cable when cranking? Last thing take multimeter from battery negative to engine block and have someone crank engine. Should not see any voltage if you do the block ground is bad

Thanks for your response, I do not have power to control wire when attempting to crank engine
no voltage found by multimeter during attempted crank from negative battery terminal to engine block
all relays ( asd, starter, fuel pump) very weak click and fading
checked battery for voltage charge : 12.4 volts, battery had shown 13+ volts yesterday, lost voltage while negative cable was disconnected. Bad battery, will buy new battery in morning.

UPDATE ; 3 years now since wrangler problems started. I have replaced PCM 3 times, the last was installed by specialist. Wrangler cranked, drive to emissions station, passed emissions, drove to COSTCO to put new tires on. Jeep ran great, turned off jeep, personnel at COSTCO couldn't get Jeep cranked ( crank / no start ) neither could I. Had Jeep towed home with new tires. Bought computer from WRANGLERFIX and Jeep cranks but will not start. Fuel pump is new, but no sound from fuel tank. RPM INDICATOR does not move, should it when cranking ?
