For a ground I was just holding my back probing needle to ground while cranking with the other hand.

I watched one of Paul’s videos. He was diagnosing a Hyundai sorrento 2.7. That car has exact same symptoms as mine. Except my pump runs.
The amp draw on my pump is about 5A.
Paul’s pump was 7.5A

The spark was consistent. I haven’t done a compression test yet. If it wasn’t so hard to get hooked up for a fuel pressure test I’d have it done already. Hopefully I’ll be doing it Monday.
I wonder if I could have 2 bad fuel pumps that run.
