Thoughts? For $50 it could be a flop, but then again it could be a good run and gun graphing meter.

shipping cost states $ 229 to U.S., delivery some 5 to 7 weeks.

I have been thinking of ordering one for a couple of weeks and just now have -- no problem from UK/Euro suppliers but there seems to be a shortage in US suppliers but try an ebay search on Mustek MT8206 --- then refine the search using advance search and tick the box "Located in United States"

IDK, looks like it wouldn't cost much to ship it

Mine should arrive early next week --- I will test it on crank & cam sensors and ABS sensors, also TPS -- it does what says on the box it will be ideal for those if it can do more it will be my go to meter.

It arrived an hour ago --- first impressions nice bright display, case material feels okay , it takes 3 AA batteries, the switch feels a little vague.
Nice unexpected feature is the oscilloscope works on the 10a ammeter setting.

First trial was to connect it to the 1khz 5v test output on my Owon labscope ---- no problems on AC setting nice square wave.

Next I tried to do a cranking voltage test --- At this point I hit on a snag the in both Multimeter and Oscilloscope modes it goes into straight into auto-ranging for both voltage and time-base with a lack of any user control for volts scale, also it behaves quite differently on the AC setting from the DC in DC mode it is definitely graphing meter in AC range it is an oscilloscope

On both the AC and DC scales the voltage ranges are 400mv (separate socket) and 4v, 40v and 400v on the main --- far from ideal for 12v light vehicle work. As a result was initially unable to capture a usable cranking voltage using the either the AC or DC settings. However using the DC settiing together a test lead I had made up for use with a Hantek scope with a capacitor to block the DC part of the signal I got a really nice usable capture.

I will do more tests over the next week or so and keep you guys informed.

The voltage settings are disappointing...
I'm interested to see if you extract any more usefulness from it.
Thanks Andy

I tried it on a 5v Hall Effect cam sensor --- 1 pulse per camshaft revolution. dc setting just T pinned straight into the signal pin I don't think it is fast enough to be useful on a crank sensor.

I was hoping it could be a viable replacement for my old Vantage mt2400. Looks like I'll be buying D batteries for the foreseeable future.

The main flaw in my book is is a lack of user controls? I will probably keep it my daily driver with my cheapo ELM327 Bluetooth dongle and use my UT-203 and BT35 as my working DMM. However I want to try it in graphing ammeter mode on a slow time base for parasitic drains.

So I figured I would bring this back up since its almost 2 years later, and I am currently looking at basically the same thing with a different chinese brand name on it on Amazon. How did this work out in the long run vs a regular DVOM vs a Hantek 1008?

I really haven't used it since I have only dealt with one parasitic drain since and that was a big one --- unplugged the alternator no drain
no brainer.
Tool of choice now for this type of job is CEM DT-337 clamp meter it has smaller jaws than the UNI-T UT203 I also use.
