Secondary ignition Pickup that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

I've gotten really crappy results with the Hantek HT25 secondary pickup, as can be seen here:
www.scannerdanner.com/forum/post-your-re...n-a-distributor.html
and I was wondering if someone would recommend a decent one which doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I found a website:
autoscope.eu/products/
and they have probes for secondary ignition. Or
injectorservice.com.ua/equipment.php#0
same product and I think it is the main site because their forum is far more active compared to the first one. Lastly try contacting
probemaster.com/
Hope this help. Somehow. Cheers!

The PicoScope ones are $58.00 (US). Which isn't bad, if you only need one.

You are sure it is your cable? My Hantek scope came with 4 of the Hantek cables that have always worked fine. I wonder if the quality has dropped off that much?
Anyone around you have a Pico that you could borrow a cable to test with?
A lot of the others look like they could be rebadged Hantek parts.

With a distributor system primary and secondary will always be different as there is a spark gap between the rotor arm and cap , also if you a have a spark jumping to ground via a faulty cap.

I've gotten the most bang-for-the-buck with the AESwave Universal Secondary Test Lead set:
www.aeswave.com/Universal-Secondary-Test...-HEI-Dist-p9174.html
Works pretty darn well for distributor systems, coil-in-cap, and coil-near-plug systems. The paddle also works well, but only on a limited number of COP designs. This has less to do with the paddle, than with the coil design. In some cases, I've found that the paddle generates a better waveform on a secondary wire than the clamp does. :silly:
