My Volvo V50, 2.0D (common rail, piezo injected turbo diesel) refuses to start after performing a relative compression test with injectors unplugged.  Start gas gets it going after a short period of rough running and vigorous shaking remeniscent of a continuous missfire in gasoline engines.   Otherwise the car runs great!

Can anyone explain what could possibly be happening?
