A common problem with these EVAP vent valves is a broken wire inside of the insulation! The wiring will look completely fine until you pull on the harness. In this video I will show you how to troubleshoot and repair this condition.

This is a 2011 Ford Fusion with a P0455 (EVAP) System Leak Detected (Gross Leak/No Flow) trouble code. In this video I will show you how to test the EVAP purge solenoid, both mechanically and electrically. All that is needed is a generic scan tool and a test light.
